Avalanche Course on November 15th and 21s

This is a basic evening course in avalanche knowledge with a strong focus on practical skills and training for skiers and snowboarders. You will learn about different types of avalanches, the causes behind them, and what you can do to avoid the danger. We will also go through how you should respond if an accident occurs.

Program for the course

Indoors Theory
We start with approximately 1.5 hours of instruction where we discuss how avalanches form and the factors that increase avalanche risk. We talk about how to assess avalanche risk and go through how to practically act on the mountain.

Outdoor Practice
The second part of the course is practical, where we train outdoors. During this part, we practice using avalanche transceivers. We are outdoors, and everyone gets to practice searching for and finding a transceiver for real. Please wear warm clothing so you don’t get cold while standing between exercises!

Date:

Time:
Each course session lasts approximately 2.5 – 3 hours during the evening.

Equiptment:
Lending of necessary equipment is included, but if you have your own transceiver, please bring it. You can download the slideshow the instructor uses for the course here. It’s a good idea to print it out in advance, read through it, and bring it to the course for reference and review afterward 

Instructor:
The instructor for our avalanche courses is always a certified mountain guide (IFMGA/UIAGM) with extensive experience in avalanche assessment and off-piste skiing. 

Booking Conditions:

The following booking conditions apply to avalanche courses:

• The booking is binding.
• Cancellation can be made via email up to 14 days before the course and must be confirmed by us. Anyone who doesn’t show up for the course without canceling and receiving confirmation will be required to pay the full course fee.
• In case of illness, please contact us, and we will reschedule your booking to another date.

Price: 690 SEK per person.
